The spreaders are custom-engraved with The Dapper Swede’s ancestral coat of arms from 1674, highlighted in gold, which contrasts beautifully with the dark-colored horn.

Material: Natural black buffalo horn
Origin: Handmade in Vietnam.
Care: Hand wash. Avoid abrasive cleaners. If looking dry, apply a neutral oil using a soft cloth.

Our horn is responsibly sourced as a byproduct of the buffalo industry that might otherwise go to waste.

Spoon vs Spreader

The functions of a caviar spoon and a caviar spreader overlap but remain distinct. Spreaders are often used to serve caviar from a communal tin to a personal plate, and a caviar spoon is used to eat it. This prevents a personal spoon from "double-dipping" into the communal tin.

Therefore, I usually set up each place setting with both a caviar spoon and a caviar spreader.

Specifically intended as a caviar spreader, but is also perfect for serving pâté, soft butter, spreadable fresh cheese, or hummus.
